Q. What sort of work is available?
A. All sorts! Most of our work is in client's own
homes helping them to maintain independence. This can be with people of
any age and a range of differing needs. We also have work available for
very experienced care workers in our complex services. See Working for
NCCN for more details of these exciting opportunities! Don't forget
that we will carry out an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Check before
you can start work.
Q. Can I gain
any qualifications?
A. YES! we offer NVQ level 2 or 3 in care to everyone
Q. How much will I be paid?
A. There are several different rates for different
jobs - it depends on the type of work you are doing. The complex service
pays at a higher rate because you will be working at a higher level and
have more responsibility. If you have NVQ Care at level 2 or 3 you will
also be paid above the average rate.
Q. Will I need a uniform?
A. We provide a green polo shirt, fleece and cardigan
and we ask you to wear dark blue or black trousers and covered, substantial
shoes as protection.
Q. What about HOLIDAYS??
A. You are entitled to the statutory annual holidays
which are paid. We do ask you to do some work at Christmas and/or the
New Year as we have to cover all calls during this period. We require
at least 3 weeks notice of your holidays and they may not be granted during
the busy periods - more chance of us giving you the time off if we have
a lot of notice please!
Q. What about travelling expenses?
A. We pay travelling expenses for car drivers if you
go more than 5 miles a day. We also give advice about claiming through
the Inland Revenue. If your car breaks down we have a fleet of cars available,
so you can borrow one. We will even deliver it for you!
Q. How will I get paid?
A. We pay every 4weeks straight into your bank account,
all you need to do is to send your timesheet in to the office every week
by Tuesday so that we can process the pay roll.
Q. What if I need to contact you?
A. We are on call 24 hours a day with qualified nursing
support. We have a 24hr emergency call number (07714 895917) so
that you can contact us at any time.
